Hey there! My name is Mark, creator of the Have Fun Teaching website. I became an elementary teacher in 2005. When I began teaching, I noticed so many teachers who had such a passion for teaching kids. The only problem was that most of these teachers were tired and didn't feel they had enough time to create effective lesson plans for their students.

After being in the classroom for a few months, I started to notice that I was also complaining about the faculty meetings and the minimum amount of time that I could spend in my classroom preparing for lessons. The paperwork that teachers must complete is very overwhelming. I thought teaching was supposed to be a fun and rewarding profession instead of just busy work? Well, to be honest, teaching can be the most fun and rewarding profession you could every dream!

I am the kind of teacher that loves to take the initiative! I started creating my own lesson plans, fun activities, worksheets, and writing my own educational songs to use with my students to meet their own individual needs. I then began sharing my ideas and worksheets on the Have Fun Teaching website. Before I knew it, thousands of people started using the web site! I realized that there is a large community of teachers, who have a love and a passion for teaching, that just need more time to focus on their students.

After teaching grades Kindergarten through 5th grade, with an Elementary Education degree and an ESOL endorsement, I realized that I needed to spend some time creating an online Internet resouce for teachers that is totally free! Even though it was hard to step away from the classroom, I felt that I needed to trust in the Lord and put my faith in Him that He will guide me through this and supply all my needs.

I know that budgets are tight for teachers and I have noticed that many other teaching websites out there have a membership fee.

My goal is to create the ultimate teacher resource that is free for everyone! Have Fun Teaching is updated on a daily basis with new worksheets, songs, videos, flash cards, coloring pages, fun activities and blog articles released every day. Unlike other web sites for teachers, Have Fun Teaching is created by a teacher and it offers high quality songs for learning with content-rich lyrics for kids.
