How to teach Describing Orally
Using the Can You Tell Us More? Speaking and Listening Activity, students ask and answer questions about what a speaker says in order to deepen understanding of a topic.
Being a strong speaker and listener helps your students be a good friend and conversationalist. It also takes a lot of practice. This activity will give your students practice speaking about something that is important to them.
Distribute the Speaker and Listener cards to each student. The Speaker chooses a picture card and tells the listeners everything they know about that item. The Listeners listen to the Speaker and ask questions to gather more information about the topic. Listeners can use the questions provided or make up their own.
