Use this St Patrick’s Day Compound Words Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this worksheet by writing a compound word on the board, like Rainbow. Ask students to share words that either have “rain” or “bow” in them. If the next compound word shared was raincoat, then the following words would have to have “rain” or “coat”. Continue playing until no other words could be thought of! Then, students complete the worksheet with a partner or independently. Once finished with the worksheet, challenge students to write sentences using compound words from the worksheet.
