Adjectives will help your students’ writing become interesting and detailed. This activity will help your students build their database of adjectives that they can use in their own writing.
Students match adjectives to describe the picture. Then, students write their own sentences or draw new pictures that could also be describe with the same adjective.
If you are using this activity, your students are probably learning about adjectives and other parts of speech.
Use these Adjective Worksheets as an additional resource to support your students.
Introduce this activity by reviewing adjectives with the Have Fun Teaching Adjectives Song. Next, students describe themselves or a partner using only adjectives. Then, students complete the activity independently or with a partner. Finally, students draw pictures and label the picture using adjectives. Once finished, students create a list of adjectives that they want to use in their own writing.
