Formal vs Informal Worksheet

How to teach Formal vs. Informal Speech

Using the Formal vs Informal Worksheet, students determine which words or phrases are most appropriate to be said during formal or informal situations.

Being able to speak in front of a group of people takes a lot of practice. This worksheet will give your students understanding what situations to say specific words or phrases.

Read the sentences. Next, write an I if the words are informal or write an F if the words are formal. Then, draw a line to match the informal and formal versions of the same sentence.
