How to teach Adjectives
Using this Adjectives Around You Worksheet, students describe objects using adjectives around their classroom to create clues for their partners.
Adjectives are words that give us more information about nouns (people, places, and things). This worksheet will give students an opportunity to describe objects in the classroom using adjectives.
First, choose an object in your classroom. Next, write five adjectives to describe that object. Then, read your adjective clues for your partner to guess. Once your partner has guessed your object, switch and try to guess their object.

Introduce this worksheet by reviewing adjectives with the Have Fun Teaching Adjectives Song. Next, students describe themselves or a partner using only adjectives. Then, students complete the worksheet independently or with a partner. Finally, students draw pictures and label the picture using adjectives. Once finished, students create a list of adjectives that they want to use in their own writing.
