How to teach Rhyming
Using Rhyming Words -ake, -oat, -eet Cut and Paste Worksheet, students sort pictures into categories to build their rhyming skills.
Being able to rhyme shows your studentshow language works. It helps them notice and work with the sounds within words. This worksheet gives them practice matching pictures that rhyme.
Say the word each picture represents. Then, cut and paste the pictures into the correct columns on page 2. Finally, listen to the rhyming words.

Introduce this worksheet by asking students share words that rhyme with “cat”. Next, students explain how they know the words rhyme. Then, students complete worksheet independently or with a partner. Finally, students comes up with pairs of words the rhyme.
