Using How the Text is Organized Activity, studentsdescribe the logical connection between particular sentences and paragraphs in a text.
When our students are able to identify the way, they are able to comprehend what they have read better. This activity will help support your students as they read independently.
Read “When Ants Go Marching, They Count Their Steps”. Next, students use the graphic organizer to describe the connections between paragraphs. Then, students use the graphic organizer as they read.

Finally, students share what they learned from the text that they read. Once finished, students practice using the graphic organizer as they read independently. Afterwards, students can add to a chart paper titles of books with similar text structures.
