How to teach Beginning Consonants
Using the Blending S Blends Activity, students sort the pictures cards into s blend categories, sn-, sk-, sl-, sm- and sp-.
Being able to identify the beginning blends helps students read and write words. This activity gives them practice using common words that they will encounter in their reading.
Students use the picture cards to sort into the beginning blends sn-, sk-, sl-, sm- and sp-. Then, continue their practice using the provided worksheet.
