How to teach Beginning Digraphs
Using the Consonant Digraphs CH SH TH WH Activity, student match word cards to the beginning digraph category to build their understanding of digraph sounds.
Being able to identify the beginning digraphs helps students read and write words. This activity gives them practice using common words that they will encounter in their reading.
Students read each word and put it in the digraph category that it best belongs . Once all matches are made, students add their own words to each category.
