How to teach Composing and Decomposing
Using Compose and Decompose Numbers 11-19 Activity, students use ten frames to compose and decompose numbers to build numbers sense.
Being able to break numbers down will help your students to add and subtract mentally fluently. This activity will help your students break down numbers between 11-19.
Place ten frame mats on the table. Pull a number card. Using the monkey counters, fill in the ten frames to make the number. Print multiple copies of ten frame mat and monkey counters. Use the practice worksheet to record answers.
