How to teach Multi-Step Word Problems
In this 4.OA.3 Fourth Grade Common Core Lesson, students solve multi-step word problems posed with whole numbers using the four operations.
In the real world situations do not have just one step, they have two or three or even four. Your students need the practice to figure out how to solve until they are finished. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, read the word problem on the card. Then, write an equation that matches the problem to solve. Next, find the card that matches the your answer. Finally, continue practicing with the provided worksheets individually or with a partner.
