How to teach Number Patterns
In this 4.OA.5 Fourth Grade Common Core Lesson, students generate a pattern that follows a given rule.
Identifying number patterns will help your students look for examples that as they solve. This lesson will help your students look for examples.
First, look at the pattern on the card. Then, think if the numbers are increasing (getting bigger) or decreasing (getting smaller). Next, think of how the numbers change. After that, write new numbers to continue the pattern. Finally, continue practicing with the provided worksheets individually or with a partner.
