How to teach Suffixes and Prefixes
Using L.K.4 Kindergarten Common Core Lesson, students use the most frequently occurring inflections and affixes ( -ed, -s, re-, un-, pre-, -ful, -less) as a clue to the meaning of an unknown word.
This lesson teaches students how to create new words using base words and suffixes. This lesson is perfect for small groups, literacy centers or independent practice.
Students match the picture cards to the correct base word and affix. Then, students continue their practice using the worksheets.
