If you are using this lesson, your students are probably learning about measurement.
Use this Measurement Word Problems Worksheet as an additional resource for your students.
You may introduce the lesson by leading a discussion about appropriate tools by asking questions like “Should I use a yardstick to measure a paperclip?”. Next, review best practices for measuring. Then, distribute activity cards and recording worksheet for students to practice measuring objects in the classroom. As students measure, make sure to monitor measuring best practices so that measurements are correct. Finally, students find objects in the classroom that are the same length.
