How to teach Addition and Subtraction
In this 2.NBT.7 Second Grade Common Core lesson, students fluently add and subtract within 1000 using multiple strategies.
Your students need lots of addition and subtraction practice. They will receive lots of fun and interactive opportunities when they use these activities. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, students shuffle cards and place them into equal piles. Then, students then flip over one card from each pile and use the spinner to determine if they will add or subtract the two numbers. Finally, students will record answers in the activity sheet.
