How to teach Word Problems
In this 4.OA.1 Fourth Grade Common Core Lesson, students interpret a word problem as an equation,picture, group description and an answer.
Solving word problems has a lot of steps. Your students will be engaged and excited to participate using this lesson. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, read the word problem on the card. Then, find the equation that matches the problem. Next, find a picture that matches the problem. After that, match to the group card. Finally, solve the problem and find the answer card. Continue practicing with the provided worksheets individually or with a partner.
