This lesson teaches students how to categorize shapes based on different attributes. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice. First, introduce this activity by reviewing key vocabulary related to shapes. Example of vocabulary to include are sides, angles, parallel, adjacent, etc. Next, distribute materials to students.  As students work, circulate around the classroom and listen to discussions students have about categorizing shapes. After the activity, share students' discussions that you heard to promote categorizing shape skills.
