### How to teach Fractions and Mixed Numbers

In this 5.NF.6 Fifth Grade Common Core Lesson, students solve real world problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers.

This lesson teaches students how to solve word problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice

The goal of the game is to collect all four different colored wedges to fill your playing piece. First,  assemble the game board by taping the two board pages together at the seam. Then, roll the die and travel around the game board. Next, read the question of the color that you landed on and solve either using a visual fraction model or equation. Show your work and write your answer on the recording sheet. Finally, continue your practice with the provided worksheets independently or with a partner.
