How to teach Comparing Numbers

Comparing and ordering numbers will help your students as they begin to compare larger numbers. This activity will help your student compare numbers using inequality symbols.

Introduce this activity by listening to the Have Fun Teaching Counting to 100 Song. Next, students get cards with numbers on them. Tell students to move to different parts of the room based on their number. Example, if you have a number greater/bigger than 5 go to the windows.  Then, students complete the activity independently or with a partner. Finally, students create their own inequality statements.
