This lesson teaches students how to compare decimals using comparison symbols like < , > and =. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, Players deal out all of the cards . At the same time, players flip over the top card. Then, the player that puts down the largest number wins! If the numbers are EQUAL, it’s WAR!Finally, continue practicing with the provided worksheets individually or with a partner.

First, introduce this lesson by reviewing comparison symbols with whole numbers. Then, model how to compare decimals using the same symbols. Then, distribute materials to students. As students work, circulate around the classroom to listen student discussions. After the activity, share students’ discussions that you heard to promote comparison skills. Finally, student can continue their practice using the provided worksheets individually or with a partner.
