How to teach Comparing Numbers
Using this Become a Superhero by Comparing Numbers Activity, students compare two three-digit numbers based on meanings of the hundreds, tens, and ones digits, using >, =, and < symbols.
Comparing and ordering numbers will help your students as they begin to compare larger numbers. This activity will help your student compare numbers using inequality symbols.
Cut out the number cards for students to compare numbers by playing War! Next, the player that puts down the largest number wins! If the numbers are EQUAL, it’s WAR! Then, students can record their wins on the activity sheet.
