How to teach Positions
Using Position Words Butterfly Activity, students choose a word from the box to describe where the butterfly is located in relation to the object to build their positional word vocabulary.
Knowing how to use prepositions is an important skill for students to learn. This activity gives your students practice reading and following directions with positional words.
Describe the object on each card using names of shapes. Then, describe the relative position of the butterfly to the object in each picture. Finally, match the picture cards to the relative positions cards.
