Using this Road Race Multiplication Division Activity, students determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication equation to build fact fluency.
As your students get further in their math career, multiplication facts will help them solve quicker and without error. Many of our students are successful at finding the product, here they are challenged to find the missing factor. This activity will help your students to build their multiplication fact fluency.
Read the multiplication or division equation and determine the missing number. Then, match the cards to the correct answer. Finally, complete the practice worksheet.

Introduce this activity by having students write as many multiplication sentences that equal 18. Next, students explain how they were able to come up with that many equations.
