How to teach Number Lines
In this 1.OA.5 First Grade Common Core Lesson, students will practice counting backward from 10 using a number line.
Number lines are an easy and accessible solving strategy for your students. This lesson can be used in a small group, math center, partner practice or as a whole group lesson.
First, find the number that you are counting back from on the number line. Then, hop backwards the number that you are subtracting. Finally, write the number you have landed in the box. Continue your practice with counting backward using the worksheets individually or with a partner.
