How to teach Beginning Sounds
Using the CH, SH, TH Beginning Sounds Worksheet, students use the pictures to determine which beginning sound begins the word.

Introduce this worksheet by using a Blank Bingo Board playing Digraph Bingo. Have students create their own board by writing CH, SH, or WH as many times as they’d like. Then, say words that begin with those digraphs. Stop playing once 2-3 students get BINGO!With your students, create a list of words that begin with CH, SH, or WH. Then, students complete the worksheet independently or with a partner. Have students come up with additional words from your classroom to add to their list of CH, SH, or WH.
