How to teach Blends
Using the Popcorn Blends Activity, students match the picture cards and word cards to build reading fluency skills.
Being able to identify the consonants blends helps students read and write words. This activity gives them practice using common words that they will encounter in their reading.
Cut out popcorn blends and word wheels. Pull a popcorn blend – set aside. Spin the spinner on the wheel. Match the blend to the word ending. When you make a real word record it on the recording sheet.
