How to teach Vowels
Using this Short and Long Vowels Matching Activity, students sort picture cards into short and long vowel sounds to build their reading accuracy and fluency.
Your students will encounter words with long and short vowels in them. It’s important for them to be able to distinguish between the two to read words. This activity gives them practice recognizing short and long vowels.
Students sort pictures into long and short vowel sounds. Then, students practicing writing the word using their knowledge of letter sounds.
