Use this Author’s Purpose Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by looking at a cover of a book and asking about who the names on the front of the book belong to. Next, have students explain what authors and illustrators do.Then, students complete activity individually or with a partner. Finally, students share about the authors and illustrators they learned about. Once finished, students continue their practice using the provided worksheet.
