How to teach Compare and Contrast
Using this Comparing and Contrasting Character Changes Worksheet, students compare the changes that a character makes using this graphic organizer.
Being able to compare two people, places, things, or ideas is an important skill for your students be able to do. This Venn Diagram organizes their ideas about the similarities and differences between a character from the beginning to the end of a story.
Students read a text of their choosing. As they read, students record what the character was like at the beginning of the story. Once they have finished reading, students record what the character was at the end of the story. Finally, students explain what event caused the character to change.
