How to teach Summarizing

Using Retell the Story Activity, students read “Floppy Ears” aloud to students and then use the question chart to assess students ability to retell the story.

Being able determine the summarize text that you are reading helps your students understand what they have read. This activity will help your student to make sure that they retell a full story.

Read “Floppy Ears” aloud to students and then use the question chart to assess students ability to recount or describe details from the story.
