RI.2.5 Common Core Activity

RI.2.5 Common Core Activity

How to teach Text Features

Using RI.2.5 Common Core Activity, students explain how text features support their acquisition of knowledge while reading.

Being aware of text features is an important step for your students. This activity will teach them about the most prominent text features that they will find in their books.

Students match the text features to their definitions. Then, students will use the Text Features Scavenger Hunt book to cut and paste examples of text features in non-fiction work. Finally, students describe how the text feature supports their reading.
