How to teach Complete Sentences
Using RF.1.1 Common Core Activity, students recognize distinguishing features of a sentence by putting a words in order to create a complete thought.
Being able to apply the features of a complete sentence helps your students create clear and meaningful sentences. This activity helps your student to practice writing complete sentences.
Studentsread the sentence. Then, cut out each word in the sentence and glue it under the printed sentence in order. Finally, write each sentence in their best handwriting.

Use this Creating Complete Sentences Worksheet as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by showing students a sentence out of order. Ask students to help you put the sentence in order. Be sure to push them to explain why they chose each word in the sentence. Next, students practice putting sentences back together independently or with a partner. Challenge students to come up with their own mixed up sentences for classmates to practice putting in order.
