Introduce this worksheet by creating a category called “Red”. Next, ask students to find objects around the classroom that fit in that category. Be sure to push students to explain why they chose that object to go in that category. Then, students complete the worksheet independently or with a partner. Finally, students share their grouping strategies to figure out how many objects are in each category. .
