Use this Second Grade Common Core Activity as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by showing 2 red and 3 yellow dots. Next, ask students how many dots there are altogether. Then, change the dots in a different order with the yellow dots coming first. Engage students in a discussion about why there were the same number of dots each time. Finally, students complete activity independently or with a partner. Students continue their practice using the provided worksheets.
