How to teach Rhyming
Using Ribbit Rhymes Activity, students play Ribbit Rhymes to practice identifying and brainstorming rhyming words in order to demonstrate their rhyming ability.
Being able to rhyme shows your studentshow language works. It helps them notice and work with the sounds within words. This activity gives them practice matching pictures that rhyme.
Select a frog playing piece to hop around the game board. Roll a die and hop that many spaces. Read the word that you land on and think of a word that rhymes with it. Say the word aloud for all other players to hear. If everyone agrees that the word rhymes, write the word on your recording sheet and stay on that lily pad. Play continues until all players have completely filled out their recording sheet.
