How to teach Seasons
Using Seasonal Tilt Worksheet, studentsuse the diagrams to determine which season it is in North America.
As the Earth spins on its axis, which creates night and day, it also moves around the sun in an elliptical orbit. This orbit requires 365 days to complete. As the tilted Earth travels around the sun, the seasons are created.
Look at the Earth diagram below. Notice the tilt of the Earth and where
North America is. Notice its position towards the sun. What season is North America in for each picture?
