How to teach Shadows
Using this Shadows Movement Worksheet, studentscreate shadows using a flashlight or desk lamp to show how shadows move when the light source moves.
Shadows are created when the sun’s rays are blocked by an object.
The higher the sun the shorter the shadow.
Choose an object. Grab a light source such as a flashlight or desk lamp. Keep your object in a stationary position on a table, but change the position of the light source. Draw your object and how the shadows look each time you change the position of the light source. Draw where your light source is located and indicate with an arrow the direction of the light.
