How to teach Group Speaking
Using the Ask Me About It Speaking and Listening Activity, students tell a story or recount an experience with appropriate facts and relevant, descriptive details, speaking audibly in coherent sentences.
Being a strong speaker and listener helps your students be a good friend and conversationalist. It also takes a lot of practice. This activity will give your students practice speaking about something that is important to them.
Speaker draws a card on a topic and tells the listener everything he/she knows about the topic. The listener asks questions to gather more elaboration and detail using the possible sentence starters.
