How to teach Area
In this 3.MD.6 Third Grade Common Core Lesson, studentsfind the area of given rectangles by counting squares or using a formula.
This lesson teaches students how to find the area of a given shape. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, shape cards to the area cards. Then, continue your practice of finding the area of squares and rectangles using the provided worksheet individually or with a partner. Finally, challenge yourself to find the area of other shapes using a grid!
