How to teach Vowels
Using this Thanksgiving Vowel Sounds Worksheet, students circle long or short to tell if the vowel sound you hear is a long vowel or a short vowel.
Your students will encounter words with long and short vowels in them. It’s important for them to be able to distinguish between the two to read words. This worksheet gives them practice identifying short and long vowels.
Read the words below. Listen to the underlined vowel sound in each word. Circle long if you hear a long vowel sound and circle short if you hear a short vowel sound.
