Our students face many social problems at home and at school. Knowing how to react in appropriate ways is important for our students to be able to do. This activity will help them know how to react when they face a social problem.
Match the Hurtful sayings to more Helpful sayings that will solve social problems that kids may face in the classroom or at home. Then, record your matches on the Problem Solving Puzzle Recording Sheet.

Introduce this activity by asking students to share what it looks like to be a good friend. Next, students discuss with a partner how they would react if a friend did something that they didn’t like. Students can share aloud different ideas with the class. Then, students complete the activity independently or with a partner. Finally, students share what they learned from the activity to make sure they react appropriately in a social problem.
