Our story

It started with one teacher and a $600 grant.

Before Have Fun Teaching was a website loved by millions, it was just an elementary teacher named Mark who noticed something: the teachers around him were spending their evenings and weekends hunting for — or making from scratch — the resources their classrooms needed. Between meetings, conferences, and lesson planning, there was never enough time.

So he applied for a $600 grant from his school district and built a website to give high-quality resources away for free. The idea was simple: help teachers save time and remember why they fell in love with teaching in the first place.

That little idea grew up. Today we’re a comprehensive Pre-K–6th platform with 10,000+ worksheets, songs, activities, and videos — all crafted to turn skill-building into something kids genuinely look forward to, and to give the grown-ups who teach them their time back.

Our goal has always been the same — help teachers and parents have fun, and make learning something kids can’t wait to do.

It’s been an amazing journey! Before Have Fun Teaching, I was an elementary teacher — I earned my Elementary Education degree in 2005 and taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade.

In my very first year, I saw how much teachers needed free, high-quality resources, and how little time they had to make them. So I applied for a $600 grant from my district to build a website full of free resources — one that would help teachers save time and have fun teaching. That little idea grew into all of this.

With a Doctorate in Ministry and a Master’s in Leadership, I came to deeply value what a great education can do. My passion is simple: to inspire teachers, deliver service that genuinely helps, and remind every educator why they became a teacher in the first place.

Helping teachers and parents bring more fun into the classroom — and to the kitchen table at home — is the most important thing we do. It’s an honor to lead the way and to be part of changing how we teach young minds.
