How to teach Animal Habitats
Using this Animal Habitats Desert, Farm, Rainforest, Arctic Tundra Sort Activity, students sort animal pictures into four different habitats.
This sort helps students make connections between the animals and their habitats. They are able to determine qualities that each animal must have to be successful in that habitat.
To play a game with multiple players, deal picture cards to each player. Spin the spinner to land on a habitat. Players take turns until one player has gotten rid of all of their cards.After sorting, draw a picture of a habitat and the animals that live there.

Introduce this activity by writing each of the habitats on the board. Ask students to share what they know about each habitat. Then, distribute the activity to students to sort animals individually or with a partner. Finally, students share new facts that they learned about animal habitats. Once finished, students todraw a picture of a habitat and the animals that live there.
