How to teach Reading Comprehension
This Trust Character Reading Comprehension Worksheet will help your students build their reading comprehension skills while reading about how to be a trusting friend.
Our students need a lot of practice and examples with character traits. This reading comprehension worksheet will help your students build their trusting skills to be effective classmates and friends.
First, read the questions. Then, read the passage. As you read, underline or circle key words or phrases in the passage that are key details. After reading, use the passage to help you find the answers to aligned questions.

Before reading this passage, you may review different reading strategies that students should use as they read (marking the text, reading questions first, etc). Next, introduce this worksheet by asking your students about what they they think it means to be trusting and record on an anchor chart. You could also listen to the Have Fun Teaching Truth Song. Then, have students work independently or with a partner to use the passage to find the answers to aligned questions. After reading, have students share answers to the questions and provide supporting using details from the text. Also, revisit your anchor chart. Ask students to add or remove ideas about being trusting. This reading comprehension worksheet is a great addition to a Character Trait of the Week lesson.
