Integrity means doing the right thing even when nobody is watching, and it is one of the character traits students practice every single day at school. This integrity character reading comprehension worksheet gives second graders a short, relatable story about that choice, and then asks them to prove what they understood. Reading about a character trait is far more powerful than being told about it, because students watch a decision unfold and then decide for themselves what made it the right one.

The worksheet opens with an original on-grade fiction passage about a girl who finds a ten dollar bill in an empty school hallway and has to decide what to do with it. A full-color illustration sets the scene so young readers can picture the moment before they read a single word. On the second page, students answer three fill-in-the-bubble comprehension questions, complete two sentences using a word from a word bank, and write about a time they did the right thing when no one was looking. Use it as a morning warm-up, a guided reading follow-up, a character education lesson, a literacy center, or a quick reading check.
