How to teach Skip Counting
In this 2.NBT.2 Second Grade Common Core Lesson, students will practice counting by 1s and skip count by 5s, 10s and 100s by putting together a puzzle.
Skip Counting is the foundation of many math skills that your students need to know like counting coins and telling time. In this lesson, students will practice counting and skip counting by different numbers.
Cut out the pieces of the puzzle for students to practice skip counting. Match the skip counting patterns, to the missing number to complete the puzzle. Then, use the activity sheet for more practice and students can even create their own!
