Letter Order Activity

How to teach Alphabetical Order

Using this Letter Order Activity, students order letters in alphabetical order to build their letter recognition and order skills.

Knowing how to put words in alphabetical order is an important life skill for your students to be able to do. This activity help them be able to find words in a dictionary, file folders in an office, and look for destination locations at the airport.

Students park the letter cards in order from A-Z in the Parking Lot Strip. Use the alphabet chart to help if needed. Then, students use the blue letter tiles to fill-in the missing letters on the alphabet strips. Strips with one or two missing letters included. Finally, students continue their practice using the provided worksheets.
