Student Data Privacy
How Classroom keeps students private: no names, no emails, no ads, no trackers, and everything deleted every August 1.
The short version: students never give us their name or email. They join a teacher's class with a number and a secret Funzy picture. We save their answers and scores only so their teacher can see results, we show no ads and load no trackers on student pages, and we delete everything every August 1. Teachers may add a first name and last initial to their own roster; only they can see it.
What students do
- Their teacher shares one class link (Google Classroom, email from the teacher, or a QR code).
- The first time, the student taps I'm new, picks a Funzy and gets a number. Next time they tap their number and Funzy.
- They work through what the teacher assigned. Their work saves as they go, on any device.
Students may also sign in with a personal link or QR code made by their teacher. On a student's own device the sign-in can be remembered until August 1.
What we collect

What we never collect from students
Names typed by students · email addresses · birthdays or ages · photos · voice or video · location · free text (a sentence typed into an answer box is not stored; written answers stay on the student's device) · anything for advertising.
Who can see it
Only the teacher who owns the class (and the few Have Fun Teaching staff who maintain the service, when needed to fix a problem). We never sell, rent or share student data, and never use it for advertising or profiling. Roster names a teacher types are saved in that teacher's account, visible only to them, kept apart from answers and scores, and never sent to the student service.
Where and how it is kept
Amazon Web Services, United States, encrypted in storage and in transit. Only our student service can read the database. Roster names live in the teacher's account on our website (WordPress, encrypted connection).
Deleting data
Automatic every August 1. Teachers can delete a class or a student's spot any time (removed at once; backups expire within 7 days). Schools and parents can ask us to delete a student's records — send the class link and the student's number through our Contact page; we delete within 30 days and confirm.
For schools and districts
