New Jersey students in grades 3–8 take the NJSLA-A (New Jersey Student Learning Assessments–Adaptive) in ELA and math each spring, online. Science is tested in grades 5, 8, and 11. In high school, students take ELA 9, math end-of-course exams, and the grade 11 graduation assessment.
